Engr. Daniel M. Nzelu, a Nigerian who passionately believed in rending humanitarian services. He was of the opinion that; education is a veritable tool for the empowerment of the underprivileged.
In the course of his lifetime, he displayed a lot of enthusiasm in providing funds for the education of many young men and women in Nigeria. Engr. M. Nzelu was dedicated to the realization of quality education for all, irrespective of their socio-economic class. He carried out this vision till he passed on in the year two thousand and six(2006).
Eng. Daniel M. Nzelu’s vision is still efficiently fulfilled by his beautiful family, the chairperson of the Engr. Daniel M. Nzelu Foundation is his wife; Dame Mrs. Chinelo Dan-Nzelu is a retired director from one of the foremost Nigerian Federal Government Financial Institutions.
In about twelve years of the Foundation’s existence, a lot of positive impact has been mad in the lives of many Nigerians. The Foundation is presently:
§ Covering tuition fees for 15 persons in Nigerian Universities with a record of 10 graduates trained by the foundation.
§ Empowering widows by helping them learn vocational skills and provision of financial resources to help set up small scale business.
§ Provisions of victuals and support for 6 orphanages in Nigeria.
§ Organizing motivational and leadership development seminars in rural areas of Nigeria, emphasizing on the importance of the girl child education.
§ Creating health awareness for women, educating them about HIV and AIDs, Malaria during pregnancy, breast and cervical cancers.
§ Organizing yearly free medical outreaches in the rural areas of eastern Nigeria, with medical consultations and provision of drugs for indigents with diabetes, Hypertension, Arthritis and vision-related disorders.
